I haven't been secret to the fact that once I will have served the 6 Clarks of the current Cosa (or Clarks of the next Cosa if there are less than 6 in this Cosa), I will resign as SoS, remaining only as Database administrator.
This plan was announced over 1 year ago, and my resolve hasn't changed.
I always agreed that the plan wasn't for me to remain as permanent SoS, only I had a few clear objectives to attain, one of which was to have served 59 Clarks in total, or 1 more than Ian von Metairia to exceed his record as more number of Clarks served.
By then, I will have actually served as SoS for 61 Clarks, since a Database error put Daviu Focteir as SoS for 2 of the Clarks I served and when I proposed a law to rectify the records, it failed. I accept the decision, but I want to point it out ;-)
So, I will resign soon, potentially (if there are no recess) as early as April 2nd update: THERE is a recess in January!!! at the start of the 6th Clark (any resignations during a Clark of the SoS only take effect at the end of the Clark anyway, but it gives plenty of time for the PM to officially nominate a replacement for the 21st).
This means a new SoS for the next election (please consider me as a member of the EC... I have experience), and will consider serving as Deputy SoS to help groom the new SoS in the new position.
Speaking of which, the future SoS would be my deputy untilApril May 21st, when we would switch position, to help a smooth transition.
I would help the future SoS perform my duties, train him or her, and make sure it's a smooth transition.
But I need candidates.
Why become the SoS?:
- It's the more glorified civil servant position
- You are at the center of everything
- You wield actual power (mouahaha)
- You can propose bills without needing to be elected
- You get prestige
- You can become a Senator after serving only 6 months as SoS, versus 2 years if you are not the SoS! That's how I became a Senator really fast!
On the bad side:
- You can't be a Cosa Member or Senator...
But then, no pressure to be elected!
