Estimat Mençei, estimat Túischac'h (do we have a Túischac'h?), members of the Ziu,
I hereby present the current working plan for the Ministry of Stuff, for you to bash our heads in with, when it inevitably turns out we don't have time to do it all, (but really for you to hold me and my deputy minister accountable). Questions are welcome.
Talossaware
The Ministry of Stuff (MinStuff) will look to fill the position of Talossaware Czar. If no suitable candidate can be found, Talossaware will be taken over by the Minister of Finance. The exact plans for Talossaware will be revealed after the appointment of a Talossaware Czar.
Webhosting.
MinStuff will try to get an overview from His Majesty of the current cost of the hosting of Talossa.com, which includes the wiki. MinStuff will try to come to an agreement so that the government will start paying His Majesty for the webhosting costs, while also considering if there are cheaper alternatives to current webhosting site used. If needed and appropriate, legislation will be introduced to ensure the future of Talossa's webpresence, which might include putting into law budgetary requirements related to webhosting.
Social Media
MinStuff will use Twitter and Facebook to spread the word about official government announcement, public holidays and other Talossan affairs and to promote Talossan citizenship. Minstuff will maintain the Talossan instagram account. However, Talossan activity on instagram has been very low and there are no current plans to change this. Furthermore, MinStuff will draft guidelines for use of and access to Talossan social media. MinSTUFF will evaluate the possibility of SPAM (The Bureau responsible for Social Media Management) being overseen by the Civil Service and make preparations for this if needed.
Wiki
MinSTUFF will oversee wiki.talossa.com and actively encourage citizens to contribute.
Talossa.com
NUMB will be charged with updating the website and transfering content from Kot.net to Talossa.com. Furthermore MinSTUFF intends to clean up the website by making decisions about pages with the intention of making Talossa.com update-proof. To clarify: for certain pages that cannot realistically be expected to be updated by the Minister of STUFF alone, should be a community effort or have a high risk of becoming obsolete. For example, pages listing detailed history that should be written by historians or a page like the glossary, the content of which are not simply an administrative task. Talossa.com should be straightforward and able to be updated by a small staff. This prevents the website from becoming outdated again during the next government. To that end, certain pages will be archived, transfered to the wiki or in some cases, deleted. Information about individual provinces will be limited to one page per province. Decisions about this will be made throughout the term, simultaneously with the updating process. To this end, MinSTUFF will contact third parties to which certain pages might be relevant, including at least, His Majesty, the Dean of the COA, the Royal Archivist, the Minister of Culture and Provincial Representatives (by using the provincial offices.) Furthermore, the neat document provided by the previous Minister of STUFF will be expanded to be a full list of pages and what they should contain. This list will be provided to the next Minister of STUFF at the end of the term. The goal of the Ministry is to have Talossa.com that's not just fully updated, but also fully update-proof at the end of the term. To retain flexibility there will not be any fixed deadlines for any particular section of the website, but a rough timeline might look a bit like this:
February: All pages in the section National Government
March: Provincial pages
April: Royal Household with the exception of CoA and Royal Archives
May: Royal Archives
June: History of the Monarchy
July: All pages in the section Culture
August: The King/King John
September: College of Arms
Directly after the 51th Cosa elections: Political Parties + Ziu
I hope to have properly informed you about the current plans of the ministry.
- Glüc da Dhi, Minister of STUFF
