Whereas it has been more than a fortnight since Jeremy L. Davis first posted on Wittenberg, following his introduction to the citizens of the Kingdom by the officials of the Interior Minister, and
WHEREAS the said Jeremy L. Davis has in that time demonstrated an active, genuine, and longstanding interest in Talossan life, culture, and language, and
WHEREAS the said Jeremy L. Davis wishes to obtain citizenship in the Kingdom of Talossa, and
WHEREAS by all indications it appears that Jeremy L. Davis would be a loyal and dedicated citizen, and a credit to this nation if he obtains the grant of citizenship he requests;
NOW THEREFORE I, Iason Taiwos, a citizen in good standing of the Sovereign Province of Benito and of the Kingdom of Talossa, hereby petition the Secretary of State to ISSUE A GRANT OF CITIZENSHIP TO JEREMY L.DAVIS, as specified by law.

Its rapidly approaching a month since first joined the Whit and a week today since my petition was filed. I'm just wondering how long it takes to have a Citizenship Grant acknowledged?

I have checked the Whit about once an hour, 15+ times a day for the past three weeks. Nothing but my conversations over my citizenship, my Naval proposal, and my concerns over how slow things seemed... that's it

Calm down, Jeremy. Slow as molasses, Talossa sometimes is. You'll get your citizenship. I look forward to it.

Given the governments inactivity regarding this petition, I, Iason Bitxichë Taiwos, head of the government of the Sovereign Province of Benito, offer emergency citizenship in the Sovereign Province of Benito to Jeremy Davis. I also must express my extreme displeasure at the inefficiency of the Immigration Bureau, and announce that Benito will gladly accept any potential future citizens who are ignored by said bureau. While this may not be legal, or organic, or whatever, hey, we're Benitians. We do what we want. (Any good, bribable lawyers in the land?) This is a perfect example of the failings of the immigration process. Jeremy from day one has proven his Talossanity; and, in private messages, has shown his complete devotion to the Talossan Navy. I find the dragging on of his citizenship unacceptable. This is how we lose new citizens. So, catchment areas and official citizenship be damned, we'll make him a Benitian citizen if he so desires. We're one step away from seceding from this dying, inactive, boring, and culturally nonexistent "kingdom" to begin with.

I also must express my extreme displeasure at the inefficiency of the Immigration Bureau There is no inefficiency in the Immigration Bureau, the Immigration Bureau is functioning just fine under the capable administration of S:reu Anglatzara. The process at this point is completely in the hands of the Chancery and out of the hands of the government. Although... per Lexh. E.7, it appears to me that His Majesty can bypass the Chancery and issue a grant of citizenship directly. I had been hesitant to recommend this course of action lest it draw complaints from our more republican-leaning citizens, but now I think it may be necessary to take action.

As I have had no word from the Chancery in regard to my citizenship oath, I humbly accept the kind offer of Emergency Benitian Citizenship. If the Chancery and/or the Crown feel it appropriate to offer me full Talossan citizenship, I will happily accept but I am ready to get rolling and grow with this community... either Benitian or Talossan!
