RZ4: Contrâ
Four words: HIS MAJESTY'S LOYAL OPPOSITION. Rumour has it that the Brilliant Administrator, Glorious Chief of Staff and True Leader of the Government wrote a snarky message to my Deputy asking him how dare an opposition party vote against the Government's budget. You know, like happens in every Parliamentary democracy. The attitude that one must have a damn fine reason to oppose the Government - and that you should be expected to explain this to the Government's hatchet-man - is not one that is conducive to democracy. The RUMP have always had an agenda of absorbing all opposition into a technocratic one-party state where political dissent is, while not banned or persecuted as it would be under KR1, considered rude and shameful. No.
RZ5: Abstain
I'm always a bit suspicious when Talossan laws are used to further a political agenda related to macronational politics. I endorse laughing in the stupid pig face of all governments and regimes, especially right-wing ones like Erdogan's. But there seems to be a political undertone to this, coming from the bill's sponsor's apparent adherence to the Turkish secular-liberal opposition, which demonizes Erdogan's right-wing but democratically elected government, while, in contrast, softpedaling the Assad dictatorship in Syria or the al-Sisi dictatorship in Egypt on the grounds of "democracy shouldn't be allowed if Islamists are popular". Note that Erdogan's regime is actually supporting the Free Syrian forces against both Assad and Da'esh (for selfish reasons of their own including undercutting the Kurdish struggle, but even given that they are better than the liberal states of Europe). So, bottom line: I won't go as far as suporting Erdogan's humourless authoritarianism, but there would be much more deserving targets. Like Putin. Let's go after Putin on the next Clark. We've got Russian citizens, right?
RZ6: Contrâ
A FreeDem MC unfortunately has gone against the party policy here that we will not be proposing or voting for any OrgLaw amendments until the RCOR has finished its work. This is what happens when I take a bit of a holiday.
RZ7: Për
RZ8: Për
VOC: Non (See RZ4 above).
