We've bounced a fair amount of rhetoric back and forth. Let's see what people are thinking. The poll will close on 1/31/15.

Plenty of potential MRPT voters here But to be fair, if the result would have been different, I would have pointed out that wittenberg polls are extremely unrepresentative (which they are, sadly). Full disclosure: I voted "Maintain the monarchy but reduce the powers of the King"

Two things to mention here:
1. The poll is still ongoing and I encourage others to vote as well
2. 8 citizens say that everything is fine. That path certainly has a majority of votes thus far. But 10 citizens think the monarchy needs to be changed in some way.

You mean "plurality", not "majority".

You mean "plurality", not "majority". Correct, I had originally intended to say something to the effect of the "keep it the way it is" has the plurality but the majority of voters say there needs to be a change to the monarchy. I got screwed up along the way somehow. Thank you for pointing that out.

So far we have 21 survey participants. Not bad! Let's see how many we can finish with.
Also, it was pointed out to me that some people were confused by the second option: Abolish the hereditary monarchy/maintain the monarchy.
This is essentially the proposal I floated in another thread. That we abolish the hereditary aspect of the monarchy but keep having a monarchy with more democratic elements. I hope this helps to clarify my intention.

27 votes so far. I'm really impressed with the turnout here.

I find this really heartening. We know that Witt polls are (as Gluc said) very unrepresentative of the opinions of Talossans as a whole. They tend to overcount, to a large degree, the opinions of those Talossans who are the most politically active or most prolific posters on Witt -- and these are often people particularly eager to change the system in big ways. Not always, of course, but it is a plain fact that the most active Wittenberg users just aren't anything like representative of the Talossan people.
Even further, this poll is set up in such a way as to favor particular options. Maintaining the monarchy in its current role is described as "everything is just fine the way it is"... not a drastically unfair way to put it, but it does lean people a little into choosing other options if they think the status quo is anything short of perfect.
So when the most popular option is to support the monarchy in its current role, and a supermajority want to support the monarchy generally, and a crushing massive supermajority of 96% supports monarchy in some form... well, it's very good to see.

The first day of the 31st month There has to be some error here! Of this year If it really is "Of this year" then the date should be corrected to read "12/31/15" (peculiar American representation), or "31/12/15" (normal representation in most of the rest of the world) or (best of all) "2015.12.31" (International Standard - which has the benefit of being unambiguous). But not, most definitely not "1/31/15".
