Greetings Atatürkers,
I would like to thank the people of Ataturk for selecting me to represent you in the Talossan Senäts. It truly an honour to be elected as your representative for the years ahead. I am humbled that you would place your faith and trust in me. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and I will endeavour to represent you with the utmost fairness and transparency. I realize there are some who who are disappointed in the change in leadership. I want to assure you that I am still committed to bettering the province on your behalf. Talk to me; I am at your service.
I would like to recognize S:reu Holmes for his years of service to the province. I would also like to thank Gluc da Dhi for his counsel and support, and the many others who worked who worked tirelessly in their spare time – or by juggling their own lives during the campaign – to help achieve this accomplishment.
Lastly, I would like to thank my family for their support and understanding during this Senäts run and my prior Ministerial and MC roles, my friends and comrades within the MRPT for their encouragement, and the citizens from outside of our province who voted for me or the Moderate Radical Party of Talossa for Senator. While these votes cannot be counted, they are nonetheless a boon to my spirits and a reminder that what each of us does is noticed and appreciated across our nation. I will continue to work hard in justification of the trust Talossans have placed in me, both inside and outside of our province.
While you're welcome to express your ideas anywhere on the provincial forum, I'm also setting up shop here this term to receive and respond to questions, solicit your opinions on matters of provincial and national interest, provide reports of my activities, and basically be accessible and accountable to you.
Should your matter be personal or confidential, you are welcome to send me a private message.
Best regards,
Sevastáin Pinátsch Senator for Atatürk 48th Ziu

Fellow Atatürkers,
While the timing is not ideal, I am writing to notify the province that I will be out of the office on summer leave from June 29 to July 10.
For all our sake, I wish we were further along in the post-election process than we now are. As I write this, the Election Committee has not yet formally confirmed the election results, but the King is assured enough of the status of a stable federal coalition government to name C. Carlüs Xheraltescù as our next Seneschal. Seneschal Xheraltescù has, in turn, announced his suggested appointments to Cabinet for consideration, which, if confirmed, will see me resume my role as Minister of STUFF.
I apologize that my planned absence will slightly delay my resumption of public service. Rest assured I will return to work well rested and ready to work.
You are welcome to contribute your thoughts to this thread at any time. I am at your service.

Greetings.
Please find below, for your review, the our bills being considered this month by the Ziu. If you have any comments, please add them to this thread:
RZ1 was proposed by the Secretary of State Furxheir and myself, your Senator for Atatürk. It is an attempt to hasten the electoral process and to ensure that votes remain private from review by the Electoral Commission unless there is a specific problem requiring scrutiny. Presently, every vote must be reviewed even if it was entered into the database directly by the voter without incident.
RZ2 was proposed by myself, your Senator for Atatürk, as well as SoS Furxheir, MC of MRPT Lüc da Schir, PM and MC of the FreeDem Xheraltescù, MC of TSP Zavala-Sherby, and MC of MRPT Plätschisch. It also has official support of the government coalition. It is intended to prevent further repeats of the constitutional crisis which saw our King refuse a duly passed referendum that amended the Organic Law.
RZ3 was proposed by the Senator for Maricopa, Dien Tresplet. This bill seeks to reintroduce constituency representation of Members of the Cosă which went MIA when our various laws were distilled into El Lexhatx.
RZ4 was proposed by Ian Plätschisch, MC-MRPT. It doesn't abolish Imperial units but does make metric the official unit for everything except temperature.
Got feedback? Add your opinions to this thread or send me a PM. Please chime in by July 21 so there is opportunity to discuss.

I don't like all this constituency stuff for the Cosa. Since Cosa members aren't actually representing constituencies, it just looks like role-playing unbecoming of Talossa (esp. in combination with the many-seats-per-member system).

Thanks for that. Leaning towards peculiarism, I'm very much divided over issues like this... in that I'm never sure where the "reality" line is. I'm hesitant to ruin anyone's enjoyment by proclaiming things too theatrical because it all feels a bit surreal to me, and I do believe that Talossa should be fun.

July: I voted PER on all bills.
I'm sorry that my vacation made this month's discussion window unusually short. Next month I'd like to open bill discussions during the first week.

Please allow S:da Shapera to become a citizen -- she is a valuable potential citizen from the GTA, who has had to wait long enough for her citizenship. Despite the tacked-on Fool provision (which many do not like), I think this bill should be voted FOR, with the Fool provision repealed later if that is the mood of the Ziu.

Noted. I am thankful for the perspective.
Personally, I was, this evening, leaning towards a CON on the Phoole bill. I dislike the precedent it sets and truly feel it cheapens us.
Still, I will take Atatürk's opinion into account before voting.

Fellow Atatürkers,
My inclination is to vote PER for all bills, with the exception of the rather contentious "We Need a Phoole Act". On this bill, I have no wish to harm S:da Shapera but also no interest in supporting the unnecessarily-bundled change to our law to create a superfluous post. I have said from the start this was an ill-sighted bill -- two bills in one -- but this is certainly not the fault of S:da Shapera. Consequently, I plan to abstain from RZ6. I expect the bill will pass anyway. Should it not, a PD from the Seneschal can grant S:da Shapera her citizenship. I would have preferred to see such a PD already, so that RZ6 could be voted down and resubmitted as a bill to create the new post that some desire.
Respectfully yours,
Sevastáin Pinátsch Senator for Atatürk
