Senator's Townhall & Surgery - March 2015

First. It has come to my attention that some folks may have been confused by my earlier threads titled "Senator's Surgery". I am not requiring medical attention. In the UK, here, the term 'Surgery' is translatable with the American concept of 'Townhall'. So, that's that then.

Anyway, I open this meeting for thoughts and comments on the current Clark.

In particular, I seek the province's feelings on RZ19. I am betwixed and betweened on this one, however, without hearing reasonable objections, I will likely vote in favour of the Act.

Aha. Thank you for the translation for those of us on the Talossan side of the Pond. We are two nations separated by a common language.

Ah, yes - the TLDR Ballot Creation Act. Senator, I encourage you to vote CONTRA on this bill.

RZ19 is an ambitious effort, and the author should be commended for a good try. However, it looks like there's two good bills in there co-joined to three bad ones. There are some good ideas that the author should carve out and present separately.

Whenever laws are this complex, they end up triggering the law of unintended consequences. Talossan laws should strive to make things simpler and more transparent. RZ19 doesn't do that. If it is not good enough to support directly, you should vote CONTRA.
