will be posted here in about two hours.
If you're a Cézembrean and you haven't voted yet, then why are you looking at this thread when you should be opening your mail and casting your vote? (Using the mail you should have received on 17 or 18 September, depending on your timezone.)
A note about the result: If I'm correct, ballotbin allows people to see the results, but not the separate ballots. However, the method ballotbin uses to calculate the results is not the method prescribed by the Sénéchal election act, which states IRV should be used.
I will therefore post the ballots (I suspect ballotbin may present them to me in chronological order. I will obviously post them in a different order.) here, together with the calculation of the result.
The calculation will be as follows: First, we will look only at the first preference votes. If any candidate gets more than 50% of those votes, this candidate is automatically elected. If none of the candidates gets a majority, the candidate with the least amount of first preference vote will be removed from the count and we move on to the second round. In the second round the ballots will again be counted as in the first round, only this time disregarding the removed candidate (which means that for those who voted for the removed candidate we will look at the second preference.) It's actually pretty simple.
If at any point in the process there is a tie, this will be sorted out using random chance. If this happens I will contact the candidates about this with a proposal to find a method we all agree on. (In the past I've used lottery draws for these kind of occasions).
I wanted to post this in advance, so there won't be any confusion.
None of the candidates so far have appointed anyone to check the list of email adresses or the results or the settings of the election. This is still possible, but it will take some time, so if any of the candidates wishes to do so after all, please make the appointment as soon as possible. If I don't here anything this week I will assume you all trust me to have conducted the elections properly.
