Do we want to maybe make M3 a permanent position... kind of like a Secretary of the Province? Could maintain the registry of citizens and (hopefully) do our own elections with it?

We could probably do that if it worked out the first couple of times. Before we did make it permanent, though, it seems to me to make sense to try it out. I mean, do we even have someone to do it? I know I don't have the time, so it would probably down to you or Epic.

GGS, I wonder if you ever contacted the Chancery?
And since it doesn't look like we have any volunteers for M3, maybe we have to table that discussion, for now. Perhaps we should move on to discussing rules of order for this body?

The Chancery has been notified that they are to coordinate our election for the upcoming Cosa unless they receive word otherwise.
We definitely need a structure that takes time in to consideration. We can't sit around twiddling our thumbs while waiting weeks on end for an individual to announce their vote.
I am not the greatest when it comes to making things seem 'official' and 'legislature appropriate' but I can certainly draw up a draft if nobody else wants to?

Well, I was thinking on an abbreviated version of Robert's Rules of Order, as modified for our peculiar circumstances. How does that strike you, generally?

Here is a link to the rules: www.rulesonline.com/I think probably that a first good step would be to consider which motions make sense in our context. Motions like a leave to continue speaking after decorum probably just have no utility for us, and so we don't need to include them. We will also need to add things, such as periods of time for voting on specific motions. And since a major part of our provincial character lies in our desire to avoid centralizing authority in any one person (thus GGS is purely a figurehead position), we need rules for the chair so that it can rotate among members. Once we have all of these things set out, we can adopt them as our standing rules. This was my thinking, anyway. Thoughts?

It's, uh, pretty much 100% the rules. Click on anything at all on the left or anywhere, and it should take you to a section. Most of these we don't need, but probably just the topline allowable motions or the like.

So, what do the other members of this Assembly think?

I'm starting to feel like I'm talking to myself. Should I just go ahead and write something up? Would someone else like to do so? Does someone else have a better idea?

The rules are fine for me (Roberts). I am not quite sure I understand what you mean by rotating chair though.

Well, the chair of the Assembly - the person who sets the order of business, and recognizes motions, and so on - will not be with any set person (such as the GGS or GSU). Instead, we will have to have some way for it to move between people at regular intervals.
